It uses sd memory cards. I wish I had another computer but I don't. But I never thought of that. Good idea. Its funny just last week everything worked ok. These pics are importing. I mounted my camera on a bicycle to take these pics but I don't think the vibration would have anything to do with importing them into my pc.

Does you camera seem to be working correctly when taking pictures?  Can you view photos on the LED screen on the camera? Could you take your camera memory card to a photo developing kiosk (Walmart, Target, etc.) and put your card in their machine and see whether you can view the photos?

Again, an external card reader may be a solution.   Here's a very inexpensive one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820223087

I don't know but the card reader is a solution.  How much time do you want to spend trying to resolve the issue?  Besides, a card reader is a better way to transfer photos to a computer.  It prevents the problems can arise if you connect a camera to a computer, are transferring photos, and the battery goes dead.

Just use the card reader to grab the pictures off the camera. It doesn't really matter any more why your computer hates your USB cable as long as you can get your pictures onto your computer, which is what you wanted anyway.
