Howdy, folks.
I right click a link (.lnk), click Properties, then click "Find Target" and instead of folder with the target opening an Open With box opens.  It has several programs suggested, but not explorer.exe.  I have to browse for explorer.exe.

How do I fix this problem?

I don't think so, no. You can boot to the OS, insert the XP CD in the drive and run sfc /scannow. Let's see if that helps.

By the way, what happened just before this problem appeared? I doubt it just popped up out of blue.

Use TweakUI to rebuild your icons.
See if this does it.

I installed Google Chrome and Operausb on hard drive.  The Opera acted strange

Have you tried doing a system restore to before the problem started?

Did you run the file checker like Allan suggested?

Howdy, I am here to report the problem solved. I was directed to this page.

http://forum.soft32.com/win4/find-target-button-ftopict211378.html
I deleted the folder key, as stated in the second solution and merged this reg into registry.

It's from Doug Knox the folder reg.
