I was invited to a special Microsoft event, where they handed out free copies to everyone that attended.
The "Microsoft: The New Efficiency Technical Briefing." It was an all day thing where they talked about new features, roll out and deployment plans, along with Server 2008 R2 details. IT was pretty fun! AND I got Ultimate as a gift along with a shirt! And a notepad!
Why do I get the feeling that it was a US only event..... because I never heard of Microsoft doing anything here in Europe.

Personally, Win 7 sounds quite wonderful but so far, XP is working just fine. Wait till the price drops/(bugs removed) Unless you do have that free offer to upgrade.

If you dont know DOS, you dont know Windows... Thats why Bill Gates created the Windows NT Family.

I did a clean reinstall of XP on both my laptop and desktop this spring and both are running very nicely. I may upgrade to windows 7 in the future but I'm in no hurry since I have no problems with XP and I see no need to get the latest and greatest "just because."
I will use Windows 7 on another PC and install XP on my current PC.

On top of that it's a HUGE generalisation to assume we are all Americans...
Carry on.

answered yes I will but not not strait away as i remember all the bugs and driver problems in vista when it first came out(cannot connect to printer being one)and they knew microsoft was making a new op. And as my comp came from P/B with just enough to run vista basic I know it will run 7 easy especially after all the upgrades I did
