I got a new laptop about a month ago. It came with 30 days trial of Norton which just expired. I got an email saying that bank of america customers can get Mcafee free for one year, so I tried to take advantage.

Now here is my problem... for some reason when I try to download it I keep getting a message that says I don't have an internet connection. I'm on a wireless network, but I haven't had any connection issues (I'm online right now). I tried contacting them, but that has been a joke! I can't even the the live chat (which is the only way to contact them) to work.

Also when I try to update Java it says something about not being able to go any farther because of my internet settings. I was told in the software forum that I got something... so here I am.

Please help! TIA.

*Forgot to add I have Windows XP Home*

When I tried to download avast! this is the lod it produced:
