Not sure this goes here but I do recommend it.  :P

I've been at war with myself over buying one of these. Not if but which one would I get. I lost the war in my head and was going to get a 160GB then instead got the 32GB iPod touch.

To put it simply, WOW! :o It's a pretty amazing little gadget.

Holds up to 7,000 songs/Up to 40 hours of video (like I'll ever get that many songs/pictures.

Audio playback
Up to 30 hours

Video playback
Up to 6 hours

Built in Wi-Fi plus much more.

The iPod touch is indeed a remarkable little device. I just got the 64GB model two weeks ago and I haven't regretted anything. In fact, i'm using it to post this message :P

How do I figure out if I have that or not?

Once you plug the iPod touch into the computer, open up iTunes. Access your iPod and you can check to see what version you have. If it's not the latest (3.1.2), you can update it via iTunes.

Good thing you got the touch, if you would have gotten the classic, you would probably hate it. I have a classic and it completely sucks. I hate the wheel

My son got a 180GB iPod Classic a few years ago when he went to Iraq. I thought that was really cool at the time. Glad now I was happy with my mp3 player I had then and waited a while to get an iPod. ;)

Good thing he didn't bring an iTouch to Iraq, they're notorious for screen cracks.

My iTouch has a smashed screen, though it still works flawlessly. Though when I first got it I did have issues with it either turning the Volume up fully, or Down so quiet I couldnt hear it. I had to keep turning it off and on, but since I smashed it (a month after I got it) it hasnt done it since.

Yea I'm looking into a good case for it. Expensive for a good one. I have a silicone cover for the back but nothing on the front.

I have the anti-glare protective screen for the iPod Touch and a plastic back-cover.
I think it's sufficient. So far, no damage.

I strongly recommend the anti-glare screen. No fingerprints, smooth, and very clear.

The fingerprints were driving me mad before, I now have a full protective case with a plastic screen cover, the protective case holds the screen cover in place (so it can't peel off when you put it in your pocket).

I got mine at Future Shop for $272 CAD after tax and that was at MSRP so I couldn't get lower anywhere else. Note: prices have gone down since August.

The "iPod" name itself, as well as the apple branding, is pretty close to the only reason they are so expensive.

I have an Iphone and my son has an Ipod touch and the best case I have found so far is the Otter Box. I have dropped my phone several times and once it bounced down a flight of concrete stairs and is still in perfect shape thanks to the Otter Box case. The guy that sold it to me had his phone in one and he threw it against the wall and the phone was unharmed. It won't be the cheapest case you can get but i think it is well worth it.

Finally tried putting on a new screen cover. Went real smooth with NO dust particles. It's best to just quickly line it up and start smoothing it with the cardboard thing. I was trying too hard the first time which is why I ended up collecting the little specs of dust. I also have a new hard plastic shell instead of the silicone back cover. ;D

Does anyone have Real Racing? Well worth the few bucks it costs!! You can enter leagues, upload videos of your time trials at YouTube at Cloudcell and so on. Really nice game.

Did you link your account to YouTube? http://realracing.cloudcell.com/Connect.php

After that go into RealRacing on your iPod/iPhone and select Time Trial. Once you do a time trial you can upload it to YouTube.

Apparently, Apple/iTunes only allows you to put 1,000 songs on your iPod. >:(

I had to use another music player to go over the 1,000 limit.

I haven't been reading this whole thread but I did read this post and it's just not true. I have both a 40GB 2nd gen ipod and a 16 GB ipod touch and both have well in excess of 1000 songs - all managed by iTunes.

Maybe my settings are messed up Allan but I tried a few times and it would only import 1000 songs. Went to my old reliable MediaMonkey and transferred everything.

I read somewhere that they put a limit on it because they were fearful more would impact performance on the iPhone. But my iPod Touch seems to have the same limit so I'm not sure what's going on.

Good morning EF - I just looked online and it seems there may be a 1000 song limit for iPhones only, and PLAYLISTS may be limited to 1000 songs. But there is no limit for ipods that I can see - and as I said, I certainly don't have that issue.

Well, it has another issue aside from the name; see, some people seem to worship Apple. therefore, they think anything that comes from Apple is like a sort of angel.

Basically what I'm getting at is that their products have wings. Therefore the Pad has wings.
