So everything was fine. I installed libusb and an application to handle the installation of my Sixaxis controller driver, and apparently it didn't work because all of my USB ports became dead. So then I figured that I had to reboot...by doing so, I was presented with notices that my soundcard drivers, camera drivers, and a few other drivers were missing ("not installed") upon the reboot. I've tried 2 system restores, none of which were a success, sadly. Although I do have the Vista recovery disc....any ideas on what I can do??

You need to locate the Driver CD that shipped with that machine and re-install all of them...
MBoard chipset drivers go FIRST...
