I need help please setting up my email in Outlook Express.  I have been unable to get in touch with my ISP, so I'm hoping someone can help.  I have a WISP and they use Google mail, which I hate, so I want to set up email in Outlook.  I have my POP and SMTP addresses, but when I go through the setup in Outlook, it doesn't work.  Is there something else I should be doing?  Thanks in advance.

Fist try to get the POP running. Do SMTP later.

Your ISP may require a full user name for the account.
Example:
I might be dumbo@circus.com and you would expect that my user name is just dumbo. But it maybe that I hacv to use the e-mail as both my user name and my e-mail.
The pop server might be mail.circus.com but sometimes a server sill decide is should be pop.circus.com instead.
Drives you crazy. Your ISP should have a homepage that gives the right details.

Oh, one more. Sometimes the setup is like this:

user name: dumbo+circus.com
      e-mail:  dumbo@circus.com

And then there is the question of which ports they use!

In spite of this, I do use Outlook Express!

Thanks, I did try that and it's still not working.  It must be something with the different ports?  I checked their website and they don't tell you much of anything other than, if you need it, they'll give you the information you need, but they don't offer the setup instructions on their website.  Trying to get ahold of them is like pulling teeth!  >:(  Thanks for your help, I'll keep bugging them and maybe they'll get tired of hearing from me   ;)

What is WISP?  When you say you want to set up email in Outlook (actually Outlook Express, right?), you mean something other than Gmail, right?  Yet, your statements imply your ISP uses Gmail.  Please clarify.

BTW, did you know you can set up a Gmail account in Outlook Express?
