I cant seem to get the updates to run, I went to service.misc and put the updates for automatic I will click to apply and close , when I go back to service.misc I see that it is disabled . Could I have gotten a virus? I am using XP pro intel dual cor 2.0  this is blocking the microsoft update web site also

Make sure DCOM Process Launcher Service is also set to automatic and reboot.

Yes that is on auto,  the application is failing to launch when trying to connect to site I went  back to service.msc to check the auto updates and it always resets to disable

Ok I had to format the computer it was some sort of virus but I did not have time to locate it so I just formatted the computer I needed to do this anyway its been a while for a good cleaning  I am wondering if I got rid of this I do have an external hard drive do you think it gets in this drive  I use this to back up what I needed before I formatted
