Please help a total novice.....

I have purchased a new Laptop without a operating system on it......

I am trying to put a system on it but having problems.....

I have turned the laptop on and this is everything it says on the screen:

Can someone please tell me what it means.
What I need to do next etc..

It seems your laptop may be trying to boot from the wrong device.  As you are trying to install an OS I guess you have a cd (or dvd) in the optical device so enter Bios and change the boot sequence to boot from the optical device.

Here is a discussion on the error, I don't recommend whacking the laptop, this extraction seems a better approach

if you have the PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable problem just go into your bios and change the boot device from booting from network it's all i did and it works.
