Please help. I spent 6 hours today trying to figure out why 95% of the time when I try to open Firefox it won't load, and if it does, it takes 15-20 minutes to load (I don't know if this means anything but when Firefox is not loading and I hit ctr+alt+delete under applications it shows nothing but under processes it shows Firefox and under the CPU column it shows a number that varies between 50 and 99 and the memory usage shoots up between 90,000k and 130,000k. It only runs at about 80,000k or so when Firefox actually loads) I ran my anti-virus/anti-spyware program 3 times and I had no viruses and only had 14 pieces of spyware, all that were low risk and were removed. I removed and downloaded Firefox 3 times. Now this only started happening yesterday (11/20) before hand it worked perfectly. I haven't gone to any new websites or downloaded anything out of ordinary.

Thanks for the links, I am going to follow the steps tomorrow and I let you know how things turn out. I apologize for this question but what do you mean by what process is the main CPU taker?

Have you tried running FireFox safemode ? ? It's found under Start/All Programs/Mozilla FireFox...
This will tell us whether you have a corrupt profile or not.

Did you perform clean install: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox ? It's very important in case of problems like yours.
