few minutes ago, I installed a windows 7 professional edition on my aspire one.

That windows 7 is the same copy of windows 7 x86 that I used in the desktop that I am using right now. It is a genuine copy of windows 7 from the Microsoft academic alliance website in which I am a member. During that time, I don't have an access on the internet to activate the product key on the aspire so I asked my friend to bring it on their house to activate the product key. Unto my surprise, few minutes after we departed he said that the windows 7 activation failed because it says something like it does not fit in the laptop? I used the same product key on both desktop and laptop.

Now I'm confused what to do. As far as I can remember(I'm not so sure though), that it was said in the MSDN documentation that I could install copies of the software more than once(there's a limit but I just dont know the exact possible installation try for it) as long as i dont use it commercially and that the computers where will I place it is mine.

Someone help me please? Do I need a new product key for the aspire because: it should only be installed in one pc? or because it is not compatible with the aspire? or simply, maybe by any chance i just mistyped the product key?

--the aspire is still with my friend few blocks away. although i could call him if you need more details about the current situation of the aspire.

thanks for the reply Allan. I'll try to call them when i able to find a way to call them. I'm at the pacific and its night time here. By the way, is it possible that the product key would only be available in just one computer. I honestly havent tried using the OS those from the academic alliance account in two computers with the exact version and product key.
