few minutes ago, I installed a windows 7 professional edition on my aspire one.
That windows 7 is the same copy of windows 7 x86 that I used in the desktop that I am using right now. It is a genuine copy of windows 7 from the Microsoft academic alliance website in which I am a member. During that time, I don't have an access on the internet to activate the product key on the aspire so I asked my friend to bring it on their house to activate the product key. Unto my surprise, few minutes after we departed he said that the windows 7 activation failed because it says something like it does not fit in the laptop? I used the same product key on both desktop and laptop.
Now I'm confused what to do. As far as I can remember(I'm not so sure though), that it was said in the MSDN documentation that I could install copies of the software more than once(there's a limit but I just dont know the exact possible installation try for it) as long as i dont use it commercially and that the computers where will I place it is mine.
Someone help me please? Do I need a new product key for the aspire because: it should only be installed in one pc? or because it is not compatible with the aspire? or simply, maybe by any chance i just mistyped the product key?
--the aspire is still with my friend few blocks away. although i could call him if you need more details about the current situation of the aspire.
