Title: Only one monitor shows up in Display control panel
Post by: musicollector on March 24, 2011, 09:40:32 PM
Hi,

I have a HP7700 desktop PC running Windows 7 Enterprise with a video card that has both a VGA _AND_ a DVI output. I connected two monitors to it, one to the VGA and the other to the DVI output. However, when I tried to configure them as an extended desktop, I see next to the Display just the one option, "(Default Monitor) on" with a drop-down window. When I click on the drop-down window, I see the same identical option. Normally, I should see two options, the second one allowing me to choose multiple monitors. So, basically, I am stuck with the same display on both monitors.  ??? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Unless the card supports multiple monitors it doesn't matter how many connectors it has...
Check your cards manual.

Does the Display settings screen show thumbnail images for two monitors or only one?
