A run a defrag it really does speed up the computer
B where did you get all the adobe stuff
and you original question
i guess its a personal choice
you could remove all of them that arent a service pack
but do you really want to please run defragment first

You want someone to go through all those programs and tell you what to keep? You're joking, right?

devide it into parts,

what you need(microsoft updates\java\flash player\ that sorts of stuff)
what you use alot (internet browsers, some adobe programs)
what you don't need or use alot (toolbars, PrintKey2000[unless press the screen print button], etc )

Would agree with others. That's a "big" favour you're asking of people especially when know one knows what you use your computer for, and which programs you use!
Would agree that a disk defrag is a must if you haven't done this for a while.
Adobe is a fair size program. Do you use Adobe knowingly? If not, and ONLY if not, get rid of all your Adobe programs, and just download Adobe Flashplayer again (which you will need). Also download Foxit Reader, which will read all pdf files that Adobe can read.
You can definitely get rid of Java(TM) update 7.
If you still have your Kodak camera then you'll still need the ESS programs.
If you still have your Epson Printer then you'll still need the Epson programs.
Check your startup programs via the msconfig command. You may have a lot more starting up automatically than you actually need!
Well that'll keep you going for a while and in no way should this be treated as gospel! Without knowing what you use this is just a personal observation and not a recommendation.
You could also run CCleaner, and finally follow up with yet another disk defrag.

Whew, that's a long list of Adobe stuff.  But, a lot of it is CS4-related so I believe you'll need those items if you use CS4.  As others have said, only you know what you do with your computer.  You really haven't commented on that here.

If you want to speed up your computer you should be worried about what programs are running not what programs are installed.

start taskkill.exe /im pidgin-portable.exe /f

start taskkill.exe /im FirefoxPreloader.exe /f

mataprocesos.bat

I use the idea of perfils and sceneries. Open and closes processes according what I want to do in the system.

I controlled memory and compatibilities. Yes compatibilities. I have so many programs installed that some don't go well with any other. The driver of the fax machine don't goes well with the multifunction driver and so on.

When I detect an incompability I close the process  before beginning with the other.

I control the resident with StartUp Delayer.
I control my sceneries with yLaunch2

I have a lot of programs installed in portable mode, so I control them from special launchers menus. From any of the six systems.

Now I project, with the good help of computer hope, automate and personalized my systems (probably with bat and reg files of the sort of kellys korner)

You should be worried about what programs are running and not what's installed?
Well surely that's not strictly true?  One could have a disk full of programs that are not being used, but are taking up valuable space.
Realtime programs will be be checking out everything possible, so the least programs that you have installed, the quicker response times will be.
Maybe l'm wrong, but that's my understanding unless someone can persuade me otherwise.
Sorry, but didn't l just say that you should check the startup programs via the msconfig command?
Again, sorry Esgrimidor, nothing personal , but l just don't understand your post.
You use process killers in bat way? l've not heard of that term?
Do you mean check the startup processes, which can be done via what l have just said, or am l just missing the point here?
Sorry, Regards

If you have not used an application program for six months, dump it.

If a startup (process) program uses a constant 50% of the CPU, dump it.

google [ anti virus programs ratings ] . If your anti virus is a dog, dump it.

I give you part of the reason. But I have many hard disk and plenty of space. At the present moment I'm using MyDefrag , the "only" defragmenter that permits user scripts with personalized defragmentation.

Sorry for your misunderstanding. I'll try to correct.

HD space hasn't been "valuable" for most of us since the days of 20Mb HD's. And the OP complained about his system running slowly. The number of programs installed would not effect system performance (unless of course he DOES have a very small HD - and who among us would admit to that? :) ).
