Cannot delete invisible files from Recycle Bin in XP Pro
    « on: June 09, 2010, 08:54:21 PM »
The Recycle Bin icon shows files in the bin, but I see nothing when I open it. I cannot delete them. It says Cannot Delete Access Denied make sure file is not write protected or in use.

I try using Eraser to erase the contents. It cannot do it. It gives this error:

What causes this? What should I do?

First of all, how could you able to erase these files without permission?
Next question, do you know what these files are?

The fact that access is denied to these files indicate that they are something very important. They should not have been erased.

Are you right-clicking on the trash icon and selecting "empty recycle bin"?
    Are you the admin?

Yes, that is how I am doing it. It is my only work computer (I am a sole-proprietor and the admin). I have never had such files in my Recycle Bin before, so I am very interested to know what these are and why they are showing up now all of a sudden? Do you know what they are?

All those are is text files showing repeated attempts to delete the Recycle Bin...
It's a System File and not meant to be deleted...
