    Backtrack 3 Final "startx" error
    « on: August 11, 2010, 09:04:01 AM »
    I put the burned CD into my DVD drive and boot the backtrack 3. Loads up the drivers and all, and asks me to login (I use the default username "root" and password "toor". Once in, i started the xconf to configure the screen (worked okay), and afterwards "startx", but it doesn't start properly. I get:
    Quote
    (==)Log file: "/var/log/Xorg.0.log", Time "Wed Aug 11 17.10.37 2010
    (==)Using config file: "etc/X11/xorg.conf"
    (II)Module already built in
    (EE) VESA(0): No matching modes)
    (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

    Fatal server error:
    no screens found
    giving up.
    xinit: Connection reset by peer (errno 104): unable to connect to X server
    xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

    If anyone knows how to get around backtrack 3 or knows how to solve this, please help.
