Can't type in Microsoft Word.

Hello

for some reason I can't type any text in microsoft word. I can copy and paste into a word document, but once in there I can't alter it. I would be grateful for any help. I've searched for the answer, but all people mention is something about a 60 day trial period, but I've had this computer for years1

You've had the computer for years but how long since you started using Word?  Is your version of Microsoft Office a trial version?  Surely, you know the answer to that.  The key clue: did you ever pay for Microsoft Office?

Don't think anything is new. I was working on it last night, when all of a sudden it began to stop working. When I bought the computer, I paid for all the microsoft office stuff, they've been working fine for 5 years.

And you can enter text into other documents with the keyboard, is that correct?

When you type in Word, does the cursor move or does nothing at all seem to happen?

And is this a desktop or a laptop?

I am able to type in everything else, including publisher and powerpoint. The computer is a desktop. When I try to type the cursor is flashing, but doesn't move its location. I can do things like insert autoshapes change the line spacing, change the font, etc.

If this is Word 2007, click on the Office Button, then Word Options, then Resources then Activate.

If it's Word 2003, click on HELP, then Activate
