Defraggler
« on: October 14, 2011, 07:25:22 AM »
Howdy All,
I am running Win 7 64 bit. I loaded defraggler and ran it. It shows my C drive health as ERROR. I have run checkdisk and found nothing wrong. Anyone know what is really being check with defraggler? I am wondering if I can just forget about it or do I have to dig deeper into my drive.

Thanks

DLoad and run the Free diagnostics from the HDD manuf. site just to be sure...

in addition to Patio's suggestion,

1) Do you have any problems when you run the built in defrag applet?
2) Download and run the trial version of PerfectDisk or Diskkeeper - any problems?
3) When you ran chkdsk did you run it with the /r switch? If not, chkdsk is useless

Thanks guys

I will check the drive with the manuf tools.....

Other than the error message in defraggler all other tools check good....MS defrag...event logs...etc...
Did use the /r with chkdsk.
I will look at the trial software. Normally I am not a fan of loading stuff I don't want to keep on the machine but this is a test box.

Defraggler put out a new version. It is up to v2.07.346    13 Sept 2011

I was just wondering if it was a bug with the new version.

If you get the DOS version of the HDD diagnostics it does not get installed ...rather it runs from a bootable CD...
Follow the guide at the site for building it.
