    It's a laptop... I see.

It doesn't close? That means when you push the CD-ROM tray inside it won't lock shut? If so its time to get a replacement...
If you mean it does lock shut, but it keeps ejecting:
Does it eject when you get into Windows? Or does it start ejecting once you hit the power button and before Windows is loaded?
In Soviet Russia, iPhone touch you. Computer shut you down. Mouse click you. Floppy inserts you. Yahoo answers you. Man in TV watches you. Computer game addicts you. Guitar shreds you. Motherboard fries you. The laughter in manslaughter is put back in.

It locks. Stays in for 10 seconds (yes I just counted)
Green light comes on like its reading and then it ejects.

Like, for example, get into the BIOS (by repeatedly pressing F10 at start); does the CD drive still eject? If so, its a problem with the drive itself.

Have you tried removing and re-seating the drive with all power removed ? ?

Was this unit dropped ? ?

I do not know how to remove the drive.
          No, it was not dropped.
It was perfectly fine Thursday night. I closed the laptop to have dinner and then when I opened the screen, the disc drive popped out.

There should be a small release button right next to the drive itself....unplug the power.

Look at the optical drive bay at the bottom of your laptop and locate the screw connecting the drive to the HP G60. Remove this single screw.
Pull the DVD burner from the laptop by its front bezel.

??? Do you mean that hole where you force the eject with a paper clip?
