Remove Post company name / tag above Dell logo
    « on: February 14, 2014, 08:59:54 PM »
    Hello,

Can anybody tell me how I can remove the company name above the Dell logo on the post screen?
I purchased a Dell Optiplex 380 recently and it has "Old Republic Title" right above the Dell logo on the post screen
and I cannot seem to find out how to remove this annoying tag. I have updated to the latest BIOS, but nothing changes inside
to allow me to remove this tag. I have downloaded and installed the "Dell CCTK Configuration Tool", but also cannot figure out how to rid my system of this tag.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Rob S.

Interesting that BIOS flash did not fix this.

I'd say its permanent without swapping the BIOS ROMs which today are usually soldered on permanent. However if they are socketed and you bought a DOA or had a DOA board to swap BIOS ROM with, this is the route I;d take, however, I'd just run it as is and go into bios and tell it to hide the logo if its an option and only display post info as my Biostar board has as an option, but others like HP and Dells might not have.

    For general reference:

    Custom splash screens / logos

This document describes the steps for inserting a custom logo or splash screen into the BIOS for Intel® Desktop Boards based on the Intel® 845 chipset. If you want to customize the splash screen on Intel Desktop Boards with Intel 865 chipsets and later, see Intel® Integrator Toolkit Technical Support.

    Create the Logo File

Create the original image using the following:

        Scan in a company logo.
Create the image using a graphics software such as PhotoShop* or Paint*.
Import an image from a digital camera.

Note    A maximum of 478 (rows) x 638 (columns) pixels work best.
Images can be too complex and exceed the maximum file size. Try to use a simple graphic.
The completed image must be saved as a 16-color bitmap (for example: MYLOGO.BMP).
