Multi-layer Firewalls on network
« on: September 25, 2014, 02:58:48 PM »
So I wasn't able to find anything on the forums (if there's already a topic on this, sorry!) but I am looking for some general theory advice.

If I wanted my network to be solid and really difficult to get into, what's the best way?

Obviously enterprise firewalls are better than consumer, but what are other avenues?

Is it acceptable to "layer" multiple hardware firewalls?

I imagine multi-layered firewall protection would be slower, but would the data even be understandable when it get's to the client?

Anyway, just something I'm curious about cause I recently setup my own Endian Firewall machine, and I'm curious if stacking the FWs like that is possible/workable/correct. Thanks in advance!  ;D
