Hi!
Classic problem: internet not working. But I think it is more than "classic".
I have an Acer Asipire 5742-6643 Laptop, and since 2 days, wifi AND wired internet connection isn't working. Windows says that the network I'm conected have internet access. But Google Chrome can't access internet (DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET), Malwarebytes can't update, Internet Explorer crash at startup. BUT Windows Update CAN update, and Bitdefender is ok too

And I can Ping on command prompt

I scanned with Malwarebytes and Karpersky Rescue Disk. No threats

It happen after Bitdefender found a virus in a legit software (Babyware from Paradox). Coincidence?

Windows 7
Intel Core i5-480M

EDIT: New weird thing; Windows Update keeps installing the same update since yesterday (KB954430, about security for Microsoft XML Core Service Pack 2 for x64 CPU). Windows Update's bubble pop to notify a new update, so I accept. After a successful installation, the bubble pop again for the same update. In the update historic, this update appear 5 times!

What's wrong with this laptop?! Help please!

Please download MiniToolBox to Desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following boxes:

Flush DNS
Report IE Proxy Settings
Reset IE Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP Configuration
Lst Last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Users, Partitions and Memory Size

Click Go and copy/paste the log (Result.txt) into your next post.

The Minitool box log doesn't show any connection. Have you tried re-setting your router? Have you tried a System Restore to a date before this started?

System Restore don't work, even with the antivirus disabled $:-\$ I reset the modem. This has not solved the problem.

But when I ran MiniToolBox, I forget to connect to the network (wired)

So here is a new report!

There's something here in the log that doesn't seem correct. Could you please check your Device Manager to see if there are any yellow waring icons.

You are right. There is a warning icon on the Virtual WiFi Miniport Adaptater

Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43)

I unistalled the device and his driver, then install back. The warning icon is gone ("This device is working properly"), but still no internet access

Hi! I ran the MiniToolbox on WiFi and on wired connection.

I suspect the modem to be the source of the problem, because since 2 days internet is slow on almost every device in the house (tablet, smartphone, PC). I tested with Speedtest.net and I get ping of 1500ms (normal: 30-40ms) and speed of 1.2mb/s (normal: 4-5mb/s). I tested on almost every device. Only one device has a normal speed.

The modem is a modem-router TP-Link TD-W8960N v1 and it is 3 years old.

I'm still not seeing any connection on both logs. It must be the modem. Did you reset it?

My PC is plugged on the same modem-router and works fine (Internet is not slow anymore). The 3 tablet connected by Wifi to that modem-router works fine too.

I went to McDonald today with the laptop and it couldn't access internet on the McDonald's wifi either.

Pretty sure, because Bitdefender and Windows Update have access to internet

Try safemode with networking and or removing Hamachi from your system.

Babyware is a software related to security system, but I don't know exactly what it is for. My dad uses it.

I'm suspecting a Windows corruption. I think I'll re-install Windows and everything... $:-\$ It seems to be the only solution

Have you tried this MS article? if its of the same case with your computer? If yes, please backup the registry or read How to back up and restore the registry in Windows from the given link.
