    Can't get an ftphost
    « on: January 19, 2015, 03:17:16 PM »
I tried ftp explorer and don't work. It used to work.
Then I tried Filezilla and no go. I tried the test- https://ftptest.net/
That says my ip is to slow.I checked with wildblue and no answer.
    I need a ftp before I get a host.I'm confused.

FTP does not use the HTTP protocol.  Why are you using HTTPS in the URL?

Like I said I'm confused. How do I get and use a ftp client? I just want to practice and
then get a host to put a small web site page. I'm learning.

What are you actually trying to do?  What are you trying to connect to?

No, you need web hosting that would likely support FTP, you would then use FTP to upload the files.

The web hosting you are talking about is my internet provider, right ?
If it doesn't support ftp client I suppose my IP is inadequet. Their must be some other way to
be able to use ftp. 5 years ago I had dialup IP and it worked good.

That makes no sense at all, to host a website you need web hosting from a web host, this is totally different from your internet connection.  What are you trying to connect to with FTP?
