adhoc in win 10
« on: May 24, 2016, 11:17:16 AM »
don't know if this has been covered but I wanted to know how I can create an adhoc connection so I can share my internet via my laptop. I upgraded from win 7 to 10 and I can't see that functionality in win 10 to create such a connection.

thanks,
Benny

Never mind guys solved the issue. I was abit lazy to do some digging of my own

here is how I went about it

- started command prompt (admin) option - right click on the start button and you will see that option

-  paste this command: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=adhocname key=password
(you can change adhocname and password to your preferred option b4 pasting it on the cmd )

- then paste : netsh wlan start hostednetwork

- Open the View network connections

- Right-click your Ethernet connection and select Properties and switch to the Sharing tab

- Check the “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection” option, and choose the newly created WiFi connection from the drop down list located under “Home networking connection”

this wireless connection is accessible to both phones and computers
