    Hi marvellous Computer Hope folk.

I have an (admittedly old) Dell Inspiron 1525, running Windows 10. When Windows 10  upgrade first installed itself (!) the wifi connection would work fine on startup, but I'm guessing subsequent updates have caused a glitch - now the only way to get connected is to run Troubleshooter from Network & Sharing Centre, which automatically resolves the problem by resetting the Network Adapter, after which the connection works immediately - the log is below. As far as I know the driver is up to date - do let me know if it would help to get more information on that (and how). Many thanks!

What about buying a newer USB Wireless Adapter that supports Windows 10. Plug that into USB port. Disable the onboard wireless and use the modern wireless adapter which would have Windows 10 certified drivers? Cost would be less than $20 to do this from most online stores that sell USB Wireless Adapters. I buy mainly through newegg myself, and sometimes through Tiger Direct and Amazon for computer part needs.

Two things that have helped wifi dropouts (in Win 10):

      1. Go to the Wireless adaptor in Device Manager and defeat the "n" mode in Advanced Settings.

      2. Change the address for the DNS server from automatic to that of an open server. The usual open address is: 208.67.222.222 primary and 208.67.220.220 secondary.
