I threw away the Toshiba as plug would not fit anymore.   I still have a DYNEX Slim USB EXTERNAL FLOPPY DISK DRIVE and the plug fits into a  port but does not show.

The DVD has my documents in it from years ago and so does the CD-RW's

I was just thinking that maybe I do not have the proper cord plugged in.  What cord do I need and which port would it go into?  Thank you.  Anna Ruth

I do not see This PC in File Explorer.  There are a bunch of Frequent Folders and Recent Files.

By tradition the A: is reserved for a floppy disc but any other.
The floppy disc is in a square plastic  envelope. Colons may vary.

When I open File Explorer, it just shows documents, jpg and other ones.

I did mention quoting Posts to reply...no need to do this.

At this point since you are confused about which drive is which i suggest having someone there on your end to show you how to use both the Floppy drive...and your DVD drive...

If you want assistance on this forum you need to provide CLEAR Information, and when you provide information you cannot arbitrarily contradict information you already gave, because it just means that your information is entirely unreliable.

Quote
in the Device and Drives I have three,  and among them the Floppy Disk Drive (A:).
Then later that same listing becomes:

Quote
In This PC under Devices and Drives(3):  Local Disk (C:), 3ECOVERY (D:) and DVD RW Drive (E:)
So now A:\ has disappeared and magically been replaced by another drive, without reason or explanation.

Then, right after that, suddenly:

Quote
I do not see This PC in File Explorer.
But you just listed what you saw in "This PC"... Now you don't even see "This PC" at all?

Geek-9pm then explains the Floppy Drive thing- how they aren't the same, providing a link to an External Toshiba Floppy Drive- and then suddenly:

Quote
I threw away the Toshiba as plug would not fit anymore.

What does this even mean? She had that exact External Floppy Drive that Geek provided as an example? She had a Toshiba Toaster oven and tossed it out? Who knows. It's guesswork. Was it plugged in for the Original Post, then unplugged and an external DVD-R plugged in between the OP and the later completely different listing of drives? Are they two completely different computers and that just didn't get mentioned? Apparently we are supposed to fighure that out from single sentences.

And then suddenly the proper cords aren't plugged in... Cords for what? Are these external drives? Are these even the same computer, or did different PCs get used during this entire process without being mentioned. That's important information.

This is why I gave up each time I wrote a post. None of the information is provided in a clear fashion and it's all over the map and makes no sense. I'm inclined to think we are being jerked around.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

E: is your DVD drive...so whenever you want to use it you double clik E: to open it...

When I double click on it, it reads Insert A Disk

I do not see This PC in File Explorer.  There are a bu.ch of Frequent Folders and Recent Files.
Why do I frequently get Remains Unanswered when it has been answered?  Also, it is the same computer and not another one.  Anna Ruth

I have a Memorex CD-RW with pictures in but it does not show up, just the Local Disk (C:),3ECOVERY, and DVD-RW Drive (E:).
As an aside, again, I do not understand CH.  I had logged in for a day to post, but when I tried to send the post it takes me back to Welcome Guest the login where I have to put in my password again!  Did it three times tonight so have to put in as New Topic.   I am using Firefox browser now so maybe I need to use another browser. I am also answering from the email notice.  Maybe I should not. Ya got me! Anna Ruth Whoops, now I did not have to use New Topic.
