Window XP freezing
« on: September 17, 2004, 09:02:30 AM »
Computer goes thru normal startup - loads personal settings - then freezes and just shows the backgroung. No icons - no task bar - nada - nathan - nothing.
I am sure it is a virus - trojan - etc. How do i fix this issue? By the way - I booted up in safe mode and the same thing happened - no desktop at all. Is all (computer) hope lost?

If it is a virus then make a recovery set from a known-to-be-good computer and run the anti-virus on your system by booting up on the first floppy in the set.

Otherwise you have the recovery console to use.

Good luck.
