Error Message when opening HP Image Zone

Hi , I have an Acer Aspire Laptop with an Intel Celeron Processor & 40GB hard disk. I am running Windows XP SP2 Home Edition. The problem I am having is that when I try to open HP Image Zone I get the following error message ,  " An outgoing call cannot be made since the application is dispatching an input-synchronous call " . I have no idea what this means. I have looked it up on the net but do not understand any of the explanations given . Can anyone give me so idea as to how I would go about resolving this problem . Thanks .

How does this machine connect to the web ? ?
Wired...wireless ? ?
Have you tried going online first and then launching the app ?
