error in rundll

I get this message -error in rundll.  When windows loads. I have windows ME. I use scan disc and defrag.  Error still there I was told to go to systems.in. and type in under [boot] section--mmsystem.dll.  When I went there it was already there. Can some one please help??  Thank you

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?pr=kbhowto
and search the MS database and try some of the findings there.
