I got blasted by a virus!
« on: October 20, 2008, 02:10:00 PM »
Hello all. Recently I was downloading something and I got a virus. I scanned my computer and found 188 different virus' for some reason AVG didn't find anything but Spybot found lots.Alright, so most of them are gone but I want my computer void of them!So I am looking on my 2nd AVG scan and I notice a folder come up called HKU it seemed to have inappropriate links (adult sites, casino sites, etc) So I went hunting for it. Turns out its hidden, I dunno where it is but you guys might have some experience in it. I have a screen shot of what happened, to my computer that is very noticeable and really annoying to me.Also, I'm getting fake alerts from Windows Security telling me to go to a page and get anti virus which I don't trust whatsoever. My programs Bar has disapeared and next to the timer, VIRUS ALERT! is in huge letters. After all this happened, I decided that Internet Explorer is bad an got Mozilla.I just got my computer back from a computer store, getting a new HDD but now,  I want to kill this virus (or viruses) and be fine again.

thats an image of my desktop now :(

Sorry for the long wait.  Things have been busy and we're stretched pretty thin here right now.  If you still need help with this computer, please take a look at this thread and post a new HJT log along with the requested SAS and MBAM logs...
