    Possible virus
    « on: November 09, 2008, 03:56:06 PM »
    Hello,

I am having a "minimum virtual memory" problem.  I think it has to be a virus of some sort, because this error all of a sudden began appearing.  I have run AVAST boot-scan, CCleaner, Malaware Bytes and Super Anti-Spy, and the computer comes back completely clean.  I don't think I should be having a problem, as I have 75% Hard Drive availability.  I have also run System Restore to check for any downloads or changes that could have created this problem, but found nothing out of the ordinary.  Is there anything else that could be causing this?  I have set the computer to auto-manage the Virtual memory, but this didn't even help.  Please help!!  Oh, I also run the Defrag and all looks good there too.

    Thanks,

    AMB

What is your Hard Drive capacity and free space?
How much RAM do you have?
    What Operating System?
What is your Virtual Memory set at now?

Also, does this message appear when you do something specific?

My hard drive capacity is 74.2 GB.
      Free space is 56.3 GB

      448 MB of RAM

      Windows XP SP3

The minimum is 2 MB, recommended is 669 MB, and currently allocated is 1119 MB.  Currently it is set for "system managed size".

I haven't seen this issue lately, however now my computer is super slow and comes up with strange various errors on occasion... for example I think the one that just came up is a "yum.exe" error.

Yum.exe is a Yahoo Update Manager. It is not necessary.

You may want to look here and go through the steps you haven't done so already (specifically with Ccleaner and msconfig)
