    Computer not Starting Help Please
    « on: January 05, 2009, 07:06:12 PM »
Hey guys. I have been having trouble with my computer for a loooong time. I dont know exactly what computer it is but OS is Windows XP. When I started the computer one day, it just shutdown and restarted. And ever since then it hasnt restarted. So I am on my moms laptop to ask you guys for help. I have no way to get onto the computer. Safe mode doesnt work, debug mode etc. nothing works. Everythime I try turn it on it just goes to the windows xp loading screen for a split second (I can barely even see it, its so fast). And then it just restarts back to the beginning.

Any BIOS setting or anything I can possibly do on my own before taking it to get repaired???

Please help I  am not in the financial posistion to get it repaired and I need the computer fixed for school and my parents business.

    Thansk alot.

This happened on my computer and I was able to take the hard drive out and put it in an external case and get the things off I needed before I reloaded xp. Hope this helps.

do you hear a series of clicks or beeps on power up? if you do then you could eliminate the motherboard. if you do and it does not finish power up and boot then it could be a hardware issue.

Did you change your boot order in BIOS?

Rather than looking at the software side of things..have you tried
swapping your power supply for a known working one ? Pretty
much looks like a power supply problem. Give it a try...best of luck.
