Hi, my name is Jessie...this is the first time I've posted on this site.
The day before yesterday I went to a website and afterwards my computer started to act kind of strange and was popping up with pop ups and stuff. Yesterday it kept popping up with a blank page that said "HTML" on it, so I decided to run my anti-virus software to see what was going on. It find a lot of stuff, including a Trojan, so I got rid of it. But this is where I started having more problems! When I rebooted my computer my desktop would not load. I could access things from the task manager, and the only way I could get my desktop to load was to go into my anti-virus program and basically restore everything I had taken off my computer.
Something else it has been doing is when I search with Google and click on a link instead of taking me right to that site like usual, it tries to reroute me to a pop-up. All day I have also been getting bogus pop-ups about anti-virus scans. I'm not sure if I have a virus or what is going on...I've tried looking in a few places to see if there's any suspicious files. I went on You Tube and found some videos about removing viruses and checked the Windows system 32 file, as well as going into the Registry Editor and going under Run in Windows. But since I dont know the name of the virus (if I have one) that's on my computer it wasn't a ton of help and I didn't want to delete something that might be important.
Have any ideas as to what might be going on with my computer?
