    What's your typing speed

how did you learn to type

    http://www.freetypinggame.net/play4.asp?lesson=26&time=1&AGo1=Start+Test

I keep scoring between 60 and 70 on the one minute test
I don't think this test is very accurate to your real typing speed i scored alot lower on the other tests)  ( tests numbered 27 28 29 30 i scored between 45 and 50 wpm

Some body told me to keep typing
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy sleeping dog

because it would help me remember were all the keys are

OK, and without errors would be?

I'm not sure exactly what my speed is, it varies. depends entirely upon what I'm typing. It's usually thinking up what to type next that is the bottleneck, not the typing itself. All my typing was learned programming, so I also have well memorized all the symbols as well, even though they are less oft used, as well as the use of the hole/End/Pgup/Pagedown keys, which I use liberally to navigate my code.

I had a lot of errors, but I deleted them all.  I really want to see bc take that test and see what he gets, with all the stuff he posts.  And really, im a lot faster at typing stuff as I think of it, rather then typing stuff like that.
Oh and I learned to type by just typing a lot.  I just got 461 with 2193 errors lool

if you miss spell something you take a penalty it's about 5 words per minute lower score for a miss spelled word

Me too.  Like today in c++ class we made a mad libs type thing.  My story was about cheesewheels driving minivans and taking over canada.  I was typing the story a lot faster then that.  On on here for example, I know I can type more then 57 wpm.  The asd and part of the w key are worn off for me.  Oh and shift and control and somewhat tab.  From gaming.

          found this at wekipedia

In one study of average computer users, the average rate for transcription was 33 words per minute, and only 19 words per minute for composition.[1] In the same study, when the group was divided into "fast", "moderate" and "slow" groups, the average speeds were 40wpm, 35wpm, and 23wpm respectively. Two-finger typists, sometimes also referred to as "Search-and-Peck" typists can reach speeds of about 37wpm for memorized text, and 27wpm when copying text.[2]

An average typist reaches 50 to 70wpm, while some positions can require 80 to 95 (usually the minimum required for dispatch positions and other typing jobs), and some advanced typists work at speeds above 120. As of 2005[update], Barbara Blackburn is the fastest typist in the world, according to The Guinness Book of World Records. Using the Dvorak Simplified Keyboard, she has maintained 150 wpm for 50 minutes, 170 wpm for shorter periods of time, and has been clocked at a peak speed of 212 wpm. Blackburn failed her typing class in high school, first encountered the Dvorak keyboard in 1938, quickly learned to achieve very high speeds and occasionally toured giving speed-typing demonstrations during her secretarial career.

I can't even type at a 200 word per minute pace when i'm just typing random letters about 3 to 7 letters long
