Author Topic: Windows Live Mail will not start (Read 13052 times)

My mail program will simply not run.
It will run but after a minute or so the following error message appears: 0x800C0155
I have run my antivirus and antispam programs but i still have the problem, the curious thing is the other users on my PC are able to use the Windows Live Mail without a hitch when they log in.
i am currently running my PC on Windows7 Ultimate

Have you tried using something like http://www.ccleaner.com/ and cleaning out your files.
It sounds like something linked to your account so I would start there. Run a full scan and clean.

You may want to try reinstalling the software.

Ok i have finally removed Windows Mail but i can't reinstall the software because whenever i go to the download section its points out the fact that i still have it installed. I done a reboot aswell

Let me just step in and clarify here kareem.

In this Post the OP was asked if he was logged into his machine as Admin.

You replied that Carbon was the only Admin here.

Those are 2 completely different things unrelated which means you may not have had a clear understanding of the issue at hand.

The downside to that is the inability to know when you have to correct advice in a post that, if followed, would cause more trouble for the OP than he or she started with.

Hi DougtheDog I'm not entirely sure that removing windows mail was the right choice as it's part of windows. (Not saying it's a bad thing) just thinking you should of removed your account first and then tried a new account.
What happens when you try to start live mail now?

Try using "Forced Uninstall" with Revo using the following
"Path"
C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail
"programs name"

well it seems i've tried almost everything and still no solution, so i guess i will have to access my email via my web browsers

I have had the same problem where my hotmail did not work but all other accounts do.
Although I have fixed this problem I still can not uninstall live essentials.

to fix the problem open live mail
right click the non working email account
select properties
select the server tab
change the server URL from

http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v1.0.0/sync.aspx

to

http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp

Something to do with the upgrade from the old Hotmail to windows live

Not able to as i had already deleted Windows Live

This is probably due to something left behind in the registry. try using a registry cleaner such as registry mechanic (which I used for the same problem but had to pay for) or a free regcleaner to get rid of entries left behind when you unistalled.

Do NOT use a registry cleaner. They have the potential to do more harm than good.

You were duped.

Registry cleaners will find hundreds of "issues" with your computer that are not there, just so you will buy them. If you really want to clean your registry which you don't really have to use something like CCleaner
as at least you can back up your registry and then clean it. Do not fall into the trap of these so called registry cleaners like regcure. There not worth the trouble they can bring to your computer.

These 4 registry keys can be deleted,Revo's forced uninstall should have done that already though.

First Create a restore point in case you do something wrong. Then you can manually backup and delete the registry keys
