TROUBLESHOOTING
I have an Epson USB scanner and I am unable to get the scanner to
be detected, what can I do?
Epson scanners require that you be running Windows 98. The scanners will not work in
Windows 95 or Windows NT. Ensure also that your USB is enabled. Additional information can
be found on our USB page
The lamp stays on all the time, is this normal?
During the time the scanner is on, the lamp will stay on. To maintain the lamp's life,
turn off the scanner during the time it is not being used. The life expected life of this
lamp is 10,000 hrs.
When scanning an image, the complete image is blurred.
Ensure that the image is flat on the bed of the scanner. While scanning the image
ensure that it is not moved. Ensure that the scanner is on a flat surface. Ensure that the
computer does not have any IRQ Conflicts.
When turning on the scanner / computer I receive no light or a flashing light.
Ensure that you have the scanner plugged in properly. If it appears to be connected,
disconnect and as connecting, wait for some type of activity or light from the scanner
indicating if power is getting to it. If you have the scanner connected to a power strip,
connect it directly to the wall. If the scanner is plugged into the wall, attempt to place
it in a different outlet.
