2000 slipstreaming install.
Issue:Performing a Windows 2000 slipstreaming install.
Additional information:Slipstream is a service provided by Microsoft for
Microsoft Windows 2000 that allows users to install Windows 2000 with
the service pack already applied during the install.
Cause:
Using the slipstreaming install, users can quickly and more efficiently
install Windows 2000 on computers.
Solutions:
To perform a slipstreaming install, follow the below steps:
- Copy the complete Windows 2000 CD to the hard disk drive or a
distribution location on the network.
- On the service pack update.exe, run the following command:
update.exe -s x:\distribute\Win2kPro
- Once completed, run the install for Windows 2000 and this will
install Windows 2000 with the service pack already installed
