How to apply patch in Oracle Fusion applications

There are many types of Oracle Fusion applications, each with their feature set and differing patch application process. Most Oracle patches utilize the OPatch utility for general application of a patch and works on all supported operating system version for Oracle applications. OPatch is Java-based, so the server and operating system where the Oracle application is installed needs to support Java to run OPatch. The Oracle Universal Installer is also required to be installed to use the OPatch utility.

There are many types of patches for Oracle Fusion applications, and multiple platforms and operating systems that Oracle Fusion applications can be installed on.
