Cause:

Users who have older printers they want to continue to use but have new computers or laptops that do not come with a parallel port may need a solution for getting their parallel printers to work over USB.

Answer:

There are several solutions that enable users to connect their older parallel printers to their computer through USB. For example, there are single parallel to USB cables that directly connect your parallel port to the USB port. There are also USB hubs with parallel and serial connections on the hub.
