How can I SSH from Microsoft Windows?

Question:

How can I SSH from Microsoft Windows?

Answer:

Although Microsoft Windows does include an application to FTP and Telnet, it does not come pre-installed with an application that enables a user to SSH to another computer. If you need to SSH to a remote computer you will need to download a third-party program in order to connect over SSH.

Below is a short list of SSH programs we suggest trying.

  1. OpenSSH for Windows
  2. SecureCRT from Vandyke
  3. PuTTY
