How can I determine the version of Adobe Acrobat?

Question:

How can I determine the version of Adobe Acrobat?

Answer:

Because there is no reliable way to detect and determine all versions of Adobe Acrobat on the computer through a plugin or other script. Our recommendation in determining the version of Adobe Acrobat on your computer is to open the program and view the version information through the program.

Determining version for Windows users

  1. Click Start and then Programs
  2. Within Programs if Adobe Acrobat is installed you should see a Adobe Acrobat x icon, where "x" is the version of Adobe Acrobat. For example, "Adobe Acrobat 8" may be seen if a variant of 8 is installed. Click this icon to open the program.
  3. Within the program click Help and then About. Within the about information you'll see the full version of Adobe Acrobat.
