Contextual advertising

A type of advertising on the Internet that is determined off the type of text or other content on the page the ad is being shown on. To achieve this type of advertising the company providing the advertising uses a spider or other script to scan the webpage for keywords based off the keywords available on that site and the advertisers available determines what ad is displayed on the page.

Computer Hope uses contextual advertising on its site and it's likely that the advertisement shown at the top of this page has advertisements dealing with advertising.
