A password (usually "admin", "root", "password", "<blank>", "secret", or "access") assigned to a program or hardware device by the developer or manufacturer. Although default passwords may help protect from some users they can be easily entered by users that know what they are doing. Therefore it is always recommended that you change your default password to a password only you would know. Leaving the default password enabled is almost as bad as having no password at all.
