Dingbat

A dingbat may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, a dingbat is a character, spacer, or ornament used in typesetting. They are utilized to create a box frame.

2. In computing, dingbat describes specific fonts that have shapes and symbols in place of what would be letters and numbers. One example is the Zapf Dingbat.
