Downsizing may refer to any of the following:
1. Downsizing is replacing a mainframe or minicomputer-based computer system with a network of personal computers. This process is beneficial in that it can increase performance while reducing costs.
2. Downsizing describes reducing the number of employees on a company's payroll.
