Floating toolbar
A floating toolbar is a toolbar that can be moved anywhere on the screen, unlike the traditional toolbar that is fixed at the top of the screen. To create a floating toolbar varies depending on the program; however, is often created by clicking and holding the toolbar's indentation on the far-left of the toolbar and dragging the bar into the middle of the screen.
As can be seen in the above example image, in OpenOffice Writer you click the indentation marked by the arrow and then while continuing to hold down the mouse drag it away from the top of the screen. If you want a fixed toolbar, click the toolbar title bar and drag it back to the top portion of the window.
Using the
same above technique you can also drag a toolbar to the left, right, or
bottom of the screen to have the toolbar attach itself to that portion of
the screen.
