Footer

A footer may refer to any of the following:

1. In general, a footer is an area at the bottom of a document that holds information shared or duplicated across other pages. On an Internet web page, the footer usually contains helpful and navigational information for users. Examples include a site map, social madia links, contact information, an e-mail subscription field, Copyright and other legal information, the company's logo, and other items.

In a document, such as those created using word processors, the footer may include page numbers, creation dates, Copyrights, or references to relevant research materials.

Essentially, the footer serves as a place where information that is not the main content of the page or document can be stored and easily referenced. It is important because the information is likely useful to a user on a page-by-page basis.

2. With HTML (hypertext markup language), the <footer> tag designates a footer for a web page.
