Foreground
- The task, process, application or window on an operating system that the user is currently utilizing. For example, it is likely that your Internet browser window being used to display this page is the topmost window and therefore would be considered the foreground application.
- In the Linux command a program can be moved from the background to the foreground process by using the fg command.
