Generative design

Generative design is an approach to the design process that employs an algorithm or set of rules normally used by a computer program to generate the end product. Frequently, a computer is used to execute the algorithm and sometimes genetic programming is used to "evolve" the final design. Architects in particular frequently utilize generative design techniques in their work.
