GPF

Short for General Protection Fault, a GPF is an error message generated by Microsoft Windows indicating that a program being used attempted to access a portion of memory that is either invalid or already in use. This error often forces the user to exit the application and/or reboot and is a part of Windows, it cannot be disabled.
  • Additional information and help with resolving GPF errors in Windows can be found on document CH000224.
