Gravatar

Short for globally recognized avatar, Gravatar is an online service that allows users to have a single avatar which follows and identifies them globally on multiple websites. The service allows users to upload an avatar with a maximum size of 2048 pixels wide (display size of 80 by 80 pixels), which is tied to the user's e-mail address. When users post a message on blogging or forum sites that support the Gravatar plugin, the user's registered avatar, their Gravatar, is displayed automatically.
